What is Ecclesia orans. Ricerche | Studi e Ricerche?

“Ad profundiora autem studia provehenda ac fructus
sui laboris publici iuris faciendos”

(from the Decree of institution of the journal Ecclesia orans, 2nd February 1984)

This collection gathers previously unpublished scientific works and studies in the liturgical field which have been written in the principal modern languages. It encourages in a particular way the publication of sources – mainly liturgical sources – and studies on these sources, making them accessible to researchers in the field. The collection is a kind of “extension” of the scientific journal Ecclesia orans which is published by the Pontifical Liturgical Institute at Sant’Anselmo in Rome, Italy, giving voice to research going beyond the limits of an article while maintaining, however, the characteristics proper to the journal: scientific standards, originality and a rigorous methodology. The collection continues the work carried out in recent years by Ecclesia orans, being an academic instrument in which is found the results of scientific research of not only the teachers at the Pontifical Liturgical Institute but also of scholars who desire to make available their research to others. The principal beneficiaries of these volumes will be teachers and researchers in liturgy, as well as students and all those who desire to plumb the depths of the mystery celebrated in the liturgical rites.
